How can I pay the advance payment?
After you place your rental inquiry, through our website’s form, or by any other way, you will receive payment instructions after we confirm availability on your dates. Payment method would be through PayPal, or Wire Transfer at our bank account. Locally at our reception desk we can accept also credit and debit cards or cash.
In case I do not show-up in the boat's pre-booked reservation time and date, is there any financial burden?
If for any reason you do not appear in the scheduled day and time for the boat’s pick-up, without any previous update, Conteco - Rent A Boat reserves the right to cancel your reservation after 60 minutes, without any notification. It is clarified that the reservation’s deposit amount will be lost and not be refunded to your card, PayPal, or in any other way.
In case I return the boat earlier than the time I'm entitled to, do I deserve a refund?
No, if for any reason you return the boat before the final return time, you do not deserve any refund.
How can I pay for a rental?
In Conteco - Rent A Boat we accept all kind of credit / debit cards that are valid in the EU and Greece as well as PayPal payments. The amount can also be paid off in cash, but the driver should have a personal credit card with him for the guarantee or else he will not be able to place a rental with us.
How much does adding another driver cost?
No further cost. Conteco - Rent A Boat provides the possibility of adding further drivers completely for free as long as they meet the requirements.
The prices referring to the offers are valid also for telephone reservations or for reservations by physical presence?
No, each offer is valid only for the specific period and until its end and only for reservations through the website of Conteco - Rent A Boat. The prices that are valid also by phone or for reservation by physical presence are the prices that you can find on our website's pricelists, not the prices on any offers or promo campaigns.
Do we have to pay in advance some kind of guarantee?
During renting, in all forms of payment, the commitment of a specific amount of money, as a guarantee is mandatory. This amount differs according to the vessel’s category, but also according to the additional gear and equipment that will be included in the rental and you will be informed about this amount before signing the rental contract. An essential condition is the existence of enough ending charging limit in your credit card, in order to cover the total charges of the guarantee and the rental. After the rental is over, the amount that was claimed from your credit card as a guarantee is being released.
Do I pay for the fuel and will it be enough for my trip?
Yes, as mentioned also in the Rent A Boat page with our rental rates, you are being charged for the fuel you will use at the end of your trip. Upon your return at the port of Asos that you departed from, we will calculate the remaining fuel levels and you will be charged the exact amount for what was consumed. The fuel tank before your departure is always full and you should inspect this as well, before leaving the port. Our new engines of latest technology have a very economic fuel consumption, so we guarantee that on a full tank you can travel distances of at least 70 miles. Just in case you run out, we have on board a second emergency fuel tank, which is always full as well.
Do I need a boat driver's license to rent a boat?
No, you do not need a boat driver's licence to rent a boat with an engine not bigger than 30HP power. However you will need a car driver's licence to rent a boat from Conteco - Rent A Boat. This is not legally required, we require it as a policy to insure that we rent out boats to responsible people that have at least some basic driving experience of any kind of vehicle. Of course, you will need a boat driver's licence for our speedboat that has an engine above the 30HP limit.
Can I make a reservation if do not have a credit / debit card?
No, essential condition both for making the reservation and for guarantee’s payment is the existence of a credit / debit card.
Which conditions should I meet to rent a boat from Conteco?
In order to rent a boat you should:
- Be at least 25 years old with a car's driving license, which is valid in Greece and issued at least before 3 years.
- Own a personal credit / debit card, with enough charging limit to hold the amount of the guarantee.
Which documents should I have with me?
In order to rent a boat, you should bring your identity or passport, car's driving license or even boat's driving license if you have one and of course your credit / debit card, from which the financial guarantee will be committed.
How old should I be to drive a boat from Conteco?
The minimum age-limit for all categories is 25 years old. It is clarified that the car's or boat's driving license should be valid at least for the last 3 years.
Is boating safe?
Of course it is. It is safer than driving a car or most probably any other vehicle, vessel or means of transportation. As long as you respect the sea, the boat and the advices given by our Conteco representatives, you shouldn't worry about a thing.
I have never driven a boat, is it easy?
It is much easier than driving a car. Before we let you out on the open on your own, we will have a short 15-minute training session with you. We will actually have you driving it before our eyes, to make sure you can handle it, so don't worry.
I cannot swim, can I go in the boat?
Yes, you can. You board the boat by land, at the pier. On board you will have to wear your life jacket at all times, even when you have reached a beach and you are getting off the boat in shallow waters.
Can children and babies board on the boat?
Of course they can. We have baby life jackets and smaller size jackets for older children as well.
How do I make a booking?
You will have to make a booking inquiry through our website, with your trip’s details and we will get back with you as soon as possible with availabilities on the dates of your inquiry. You can also call us, or send us an email, or even drop by our desk at our premises and leave your inquiry with our reception. In any case bookings are confirmed only after advance payment.
How can I reserve a boat or know the rental price?
Through our website www.contecorentaboat.com you can be informed of all our rental rates and you can make a booking inquiry. After your inquiry is confirmed, you will be asked to proceed with a down payment to reserve and lock your booking dates. Alternativelly you may call in or email us. Find our contact details in our website as well.
Can I cancel or change my reservation?
As soon as you make a down payment and your reservation is locked, a confirmation message will be sent to you with the reservation number and rental details. In case you need to change or cancel your reservation, please contact us through phone or email at least a couple weeks before your booked dates, to place your request. Changes on bookings that are less than 7 days apart your booked dates, will be handled clearly on current availabilities. We are not responsible for possibly not being able to find availability and change the dates of your booking if you inform us too late. There are no refunds on down payments if you cancel your booking within the last 7 days prior your booked dates. You will only receive a 50% refund of your initial down payment, in case you cancel earlier than 7 days of your booked days.
Can I make more than one reservation at a time?
Yes, always according to current availability. Each reservation is unique and has a separate number.
Can I make a reservation with a credit / debit card which is not in my name?
You can make a reservation paying the advance payment with a card that is not on your name, but at the day of the rental, the card that the quarantee will be claimed from and the actual final cost of the rental will be charged to, must be of your own and in your name, if you are the driver signing the contract. In case you are the driver, but do not have a credit card with you, you can use a third person’s card, only if the lease agreement is signed by that person and this person is present.
What should I check before the rental?
During the rental delivery and inspection, it is important to check the boat with our representative and indicate any possible damage from previous rentals. Signing the lease contract you accept that you are aware of these and you are not responsible for them. If no damages are mentioned in your lease contract before your trip, you will be held accountable for every damages that will show up when you return the boat at the end of your rental.
Can I drive the boat outside the Greek border?
No, in any case it is forbidden explicitly the vessel to travel outside the Greek territory.
What should I do in case of mechanical breakdown?
In case any mechanical breakdown occurs, you should contact us immediatelly through our emergency phone number that you will be provided with at the day of the rental.
What should I do in case of an accident?
In the unfortunate event of an accident you should contact us immediatelly through our emergency phone number that you will be provided with at the day of the rental, as well as call the port police of the island.
How much time do I have on the boat I rented out, on a full day?
The rental day begins 08:00 o'clock in the morning and ends the latest at 19:00 in the afternoon. So, the rented boat can be in your possesion for the maximum time of 11 hours. If you are not back by that time, 19:00, this will trigger our alert / emergency mode and we would have to come and find / rescue you, as well as inform the authorities. If this situation is triggered as false alarm with no real emergency, but just because you did not follow our rules, you will be charged a penalty on our services, at least for the cost of the rescue attempt.
What happens in case I return the boat later than the final return time?
In general there is a grace period around 1 hour (60’), only if you call us ahead and much earlier than the final return time, informing us that you are safe and on your way back. After the expiry of this period, you are bearing the cost of one more rental day, according to the current pricing policy. If you do not even inform us at all, then as mentioned in above question, you will trigger the alert / emergency mode which could potentially cost you a lot more than just one more rental day, maybe even legal action against you.
Can I return the boat in a different from the agreed delivery point?
No, you can't. The boat can only be returned at the port of Asos, infront of the Conteco premises, where you initialy received it from.
